Wireless Mobile Broadband

I would like to know what exactly Mobile Broadband is.
I live in the UK, have a laptop and a mobile phone (PAYG) but I do not have a land line.
What do I need, from start to finish, to enable internet in my apartment, without installing a land line?
Also, is it expensive? Where would I get a good deal?

They have a number of UK providers reviewed so you can get a feel for what each one offers and there are some great consumer guides that can explain what the service is much better than I can here on Yahoo.

There is a fee associated with the service but once you have it set up you can actually use that laptop anywhere, not just in your apartment.

I have Alltel mobile broadband which runs at about 144kbps from what they say. It gets a download speed of about 15kbps and uploads of around 4 or 5kbps. Could it run an Massively multiplayer online game like World of warcraft or guild wars?

Yes, you can. My husband and I use Verizon Wireless Broadband modems to play Age of Conan and it runs great!!

Hi guys i am stunned and need an internet connection for my ps3 and i am still unsure if those new wireless internet dongles from 3, Vodafone, Tmobile and orange would do the trick?
please could someone give me an idea or not.
i have the usual connection at ome but needed it for when on the move with the ps3.
any ideas would be a great help

not likely unless you can find linux drivers for it and install linux on your ps3
